DAVID BALL

joined the film industry in 1969 as an assistant production accountant and worked at EMI Elstree Studios under the guidance of Brian Forbes. His credits during that time included “The Boyfriend,” “The Railway Children” and “The Go Between.”

In 1972, he became a freelance Film Accountant and by 1978 had worked on over twenty films and T.V. series. He took the opportunity whilst working on a number of films in Mexico to become a Production Manager and, combining his financial and production experiences, quickly became a Line Producer, Producer and Representative for Completion Guarantors. This experience now stretches to more than fifty films in four continents. In 1997, David was invited to Cardiff to be the “bondable” Producer on “Up n Under.” This was followed by “House!”, “Last Seduction II” and “The Testimony of Taliesin Jones” which received 5 Bafta Cymru nominations. Further productions in Wales include “Alone”, “The I Inside” and the BAFTA award winning “Plots with a view”. He has since completed “Heidi”, “The Big Nothing”, “The Contractor”, “Caught in the Act”, “Abraham’s Point” and “The Big I Am” in Wales, often fulfilling the role of second unit director in addition to his producing duties.

Over the last twenty five years he has taken control of many productions at the instigation of Finance Houses and/or Completion Guarantors. This scenario prevails when the interested parties are not satisfied with the running of their production. This will be substantiated by Film Finances Inc in London if required.

Over the years, David has become a leading consultant on budgeting and scheduling, having delivered over 500 budgets during development and a similar number during production.

He is an active member of the Production Guild of UK (board member for it’s inaugural 3 years) and has sat on the “Skillset Cymru” Film Training Panel. David’s hobbies include film making, football, music and golf (David runs a charity golf society).
